Dr Herold Truter, spent his childhood in Wolseley, matriculated at Paarl Gymnasium and in 1992 qualified as a dentist at the University of Stellenbosch.

In 1994 he bought the practice on Piketberg – after 3 children and almost 30 years with his family here on Piketberg, Piketberg’s people and the surrounding community are part of who he is. When he is not pursuing his passion for dentistry, he is playing golf or riding his bike.

Dr. Jasper Müller matriculated at Augsburg High School in Clanwilliam in 2014. In 2019 he obtained his BDS degree at the University of the Western Cape, after which he completed his fellowship year in Springbok.

Dr. Müller moved to Kathu where he kicked off his career as a private dentist. His heart has always longed to return to his roots and that is why he joined Bergrivier Dental in 2022. Dr. Müller has a passion for his profession and love for people.

Dr. Saskia Smalberger joined the practice in early 2018. Although she loves helping all her patients with their dental needs, her passion is working with children.

It is important to her that they develop a love for oral hygiene so that, for the rest of their lives, they can walk into a dentist’s office fearlessly and walk out with a smile.

Bendert, a born Piketberger, joined Bergrivier Dental in 2021.

He is a qualified dental therapist who specialises in tooth extractions, minor restorations, tooth polishing and X-rays, he also assists patients with the necessary oral hygiene – instructions and knowledge. Bendert is also a keen tennis player and coach.

Lizette matriculated in Velddrif, after school she worked for 3 years as chair assistant in Somerset West and then continued her career for 10 years in Saldanha.

In 2017 she joined Bergrivier Dental, as senior chair assistant for Dr Herold Truter. With her loyal and practical nature, she is an asset to any practice. Lizette enjoys long walks by the sea and grilling meat on the braai.

Elaine has always had a passion for people. She was previously involved in social services and started at Bergrivier Dental in 2006 as a junior chair assistant.

After further study she qualified as senior chair assistant and is currently Dr Jasper Muller’s right hand. Elaine is known for her cheerful and helpful nature – her anecdotes brighten everyone’s day. The great love in her life is her grandchild and she enjoys traveling.

Elsabé grew up in Porterville, studied Pharmacy at the University of Stellenbosch and met Herold Truter during her studies. In 1994 they moved to Piketberg and she was appointed as Bergrivier Dental’s practice manager.

After almost 30 years, she still enjoys being part of the practice and the staff. She loves reading, exercising, watching TV, but above all, spending time with family and friends.

Jeslyne only joined the Bergrivier Dental team in 2022, but she has been a resident of Piketberg for many years.

She worked at the Piketberg Clinic for more than 5 years and since the patients’ happiness and comfort has always been her first priority, she easily made the move to dentistry. When she is not working, she prefers to spend time with her family.

Sonja originally comes from the Overberg (Swellendam). Before she started working at Bergrivier Dental in September 2021, she lived in the Karoo for 20 years.

She worked as a linen matron in Merweville and also as a receptionist and guesthouse manager. In 2021, this friendly, helpful lady exchanged the Karoo plains for the mountains of the Swartland. Her great loves are animals, nature, good food, dancing and time with her friends and loved ones.

After her studies, Corné started her career at Tulbagh Winery. After that she handled the financial management, at several wineries and farms in the Paarl area.

In 2016 she joined the Bergrivier Dental team. She handles all claims, medical aid, payments and enquiries. Since Corne is an excellent organizer, likes people and solves problems – this position fits her like a glove. Corné’s interests are reading, spending time with her family and drinking coffee.

Monica has been a receptionist at our branch practice in Citrusdal since February 2016. Nothing is too much trouble for this friendly and helpful lady. She regularly spoils the dentists with something to eat, and they can testify to that. When she is not looking after others, she enjoys nature, reading and sewing.
